IIn the framework of
the cooperation with other European film festivals the 24 July
2006 TIFF will organize “Albanian Shorts”, a special night
within the "Salento Finibus Terrae" International Film Festival.
The five Albanian shorts already selected by the direction of
the Salento Film Festival are: "Abandoned Eden" by Eno Milkani,
"Bitter Prunes" by Dorian Ahmeti, "The Bridge" by Artur
Muharremi,
"Tunnel"
by Ilir Butka, "Snowdrops" by Robert budina.

At the arrival of
the deadline for submitting at the fourth edition of Tirana
International Film Festival on the October 15th, at our office in
Tirana has arrived over 800 excellent films of all the categories.
500 of them submitted on line and over 300 other films came by mail
without submission. Selection committee came to the decision of
announcing 100 films, which are chosen to take part at the
international competition. This year for the category of fiction are
selected 60 films, 15 at the category of Animated, 12 documentary
and 13 experimental. Totally 21 hours of screening.Tirana
International Film Festival thank all the filmmakers, producers and
institutions for submiting their qualitative films.

the Albanian Film Festival, will take place from October 2 - 9, 2006
in Tirana, ALBANIA
The
2007 Promotional Prize for Joint Film Productions by young German
and Eastern / South Eastern European filmmakers in the categories
animated film, documentary, and short film.
The promotional prize offers young German filmmakers in the fields
of production, directing, camera, and screenplay the opportunity to
carry out a joint film project with colleagues from Eastern as well
as South Eastern Europe.
Eligible are joint production teams consisting of German nationals
and members from an Eastern or South Eastern European country.
Individuals cannot apply. The production of the film should take
place in Germany and the partner country. The interaction between
both cultures is an essential factor of the competition.

The European Cinema Festival of Lecce, chosen by the cinema
section in the Programme PIC Interreg Italy/Albania, will
dedicate this year a week to discover or re-discover Albanian
cinematography. An historical journey bringing to light a
cinematography nearly unknown in the Western countries – because
of the objective weakness of cinematographic industry – rich,
complex, able to express great European personalities. An
invitation to reflect and a study on the examination of the past
and the necessities of the present. The Festival will host some
of the most important contemporary Albanian directors.

THE AWARDS OF 7th EDITION OF
THE
EUROPEAN CINEMA FESTIVAL |

On Sunday April 30th the 7th
edition of the European Cinema Festival
that took place in Lecce, Italy
(25th
–30th April) has come to a conclusion.
The Jury unanimously expresses the following motivation:
Ø
The Ulivo d’oro Prize,
The Italian.
For the delicate poetic sensibility with which the film deals a
dramatic topical issue.
Ø
The
Best Script Award:
Fratricide. For
the rigour with which it portrays the ancestral hatred between
two ethnic groups forced to live together.
Ø
The
Special Jury Award:
Lucy.
Through an involving atmosphere, it portrays the existence of a
young woman confronted with her precocious motherhood.
Ø
The
Best Cinematography Award:
Live!
For displaying a complex subject in its structure, giving the
images a voice of great visual presence.
Ø
The
Award to a Debut Film:
Sandra Kristoff.
To a director that, in spite of the few available means, bravely
describes the delicate generational conflicts.
