"Short" Historic of 1-st Edition of
Tirana International Film Festival

Tirana International Film Festival, held on 1–7 December 2003, marked the most important event of cinema in Albania. More than 350 movies from 41 world countries submitted in this competition, with 81 of them from 30 states being selected as the most qualitative ones. The films were divided into four categories, including Fiction, Animation, Documentary and Experimental. A special category in this festival was the one of the Albanian Film, which included Albanian production from every world country.

Awards and Prizes


7 awards for 4 category


Was selected the best film for every category, with an award of Euro 2,000, and the best film of the Festival, with an award of Euro 3,000.

At the same time, the organizers of the Festival offered the Prize of the Public and that of the Media, with the jury of the latter made up by journalists from Albania and Kosovo.

Every prize was accompanied with the Festival cup, an art piece by   
participation certificatethe sculpture Thoma Thomai, worked in bronze     

Every participations is provided with a “Participation Certificate” and for  the winners “Diploma”
